After LA Fashion Week, I decided it was time to get away from the city and relax for the day. My boyfriend and I decided it’d be a good idea to go to the desert to check out the Super Bloom, so we ended up at Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
It was a very wet winter in California, which was a good thing. Before this past winter, I couldn’t remember a single actual storm happening since I was a teenager. California had been in a serious drought for years, killing off the greenery and turning hillsides into piles of dirt. After all of the rain last winter, most of California was out of the drought, which meant plants were coming back to life.
I first heard about the Super Bloom online. The rain was causing a massive wildflower bloom out in the desert, turning the sandy grounds into vibrant flower fields. When we got there, it was crowded. It seemed like everyone from Los Angeles had had the same idea as us and were all walking the dirt trails, snapping pictures of the flowers.
The Super Bloom really is beautiful. My pictures don’t even do it justice.
