Be My Valentine

Happy Valentine’s Day! Or “Singles Appreciation Day” if you don’t have a Valentine. To be totally honest, Valentine’s Day is kind of over-hyped anyways. I’m definitely a hopeless romantic, but I don’t think appreciating your partner should only be a focus on February 14. But I do like the excuse to dress up and go out.

I got my amazing (and huge) The Ritz hat from Lack of Color. Honestly, I was a little nervous about ordering a hat from Australia since it seemed like I would be practically begging for it to get crunched in shipping. However, this hat arrived in perfect condition.

My paisley silk top and linen high waisted shorts are both from The Kooples. I wore fishnets under my shorts for move of an edgy evening vibe. Lastly, I wore my Friday Night Platform Leather Boot from Free People. These boots are quickly becoming my favorite things to wear and pair with any kind of shorts, skirt, or cropped pant.

Velvet Leopard

Motorcycle season is here and I’m so stoked. Okay, so maybe I don’t have my own chopper, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy being on one. Sometimes, being the passenger on the back is even better.

I got this sweet Harley Davidson shirt from a new vintage store in Phoenix, Wang’s Vintage. While their Tempe location sells a lot of secondhand streetwear, their Phoenix spot has a lot of cool vintage tees, leather jackets, and denim cut off shorts.

I really love all the ways you can style an oversized tee. For this tee, I rolled up the sleeves and little bit and but a belt over it on my waist. As I moved throughout the day, the tee started to untuck itself from under the belt, giving it a more casual vibe.

Under my tee I’m actually wearing an amazing leopard jumpsuit from Backbite. I actually really love wearing jumpsuits on weekend bike trips because all you have to do is bring an extra shirt and you have different outfits for the whole weekend. Traveling minimalist is super important on a motorcycle. The fringe leather bag I have on the belt (also from Backbite) is also good for holding things I need for the weekend.

I’ve accessorized with shades from Ray-Ban, a pendant from The Great Frog, my western wedges from Jeffrey Campbell, and a bunch of chunky silver rings.

Just because I’ve grown up doesn’t mean I’ve grown out of wearing band tees. It just means that I wear them with more than just skinny jeans and Vans now.

One thing I really love about 80s hair metal bands is how outrageous they dressed and acted. Bands like Guns N Roses were the epitome of sex, drugs, & rock n’ roll. The band’s love of leather, ripped denim, and studs is still major fashion inspiration for me.

I’m channelling serious rock n’ roll cowboy vibes with this outfit. I got this studded felt brim hat from The Kooples during one of the end-of-season sales a few years back. I’m rocking my favorite Hexagon frame sunglasses from Ray-Ban. I feel like I’ve had this leopard coat forever, and I definitely bought it before it was “cool”. I totally admit that I stole my Guns N Roses shirt from one of my friends when I lived in LA, but I do have tons of other band tees at my disposal as well. I absolutely love my flared jeans from Frame. They make my legs look super long and my ass look good. A leather western belt from B-Low The Belt and western-style leather wedge boots from Jeffrey Campbell really give the look that edgy cowboy feel.
