I went and saw The Kills last Friday at the Fox Theater in Pomona. I had meant to see them earlier this summer, but I missed the date and couldn't go so I was stoked when I found out they would be playing in Pomona. I've always loved rock bands with women fronting them and have longed for the days of Joan Jett, Patti Smith, and Debbie Harry. Sure, growing up there were female "rockers" for me to idolize, but they always eventually exchanged their boots for glitter-y heels and turned to pop. Recently, I've seen a resurgence of real female-fronted rock bands that I didn't have as a kid.

I think that dressing up for a concert if half of the fun. I love feeling good and ready to kick ass when I go to a show, and the best way for me to do that is if I'm in a new killer outfit. I was pretty undecided on what I wanted when I initially went on the hunt of my concert outfit, but once I saw this Catness A-Line Mini Skirt on the mannequin in Urban Outfitters, I knew I had to have it. They had it styled with a band tee and leather jacket originally, but I decided to swap out the tee for this Sleeveless Turtleneck Top from H&M. I don't know why, but I've always felt weird about wearing band tees to concerts where that band wasn't playing, so I decided on a plain shirt, but I will pair the skirt with a band tee when I wear it again.

September has only just started and it's already really starting to cool down at night. I was able to wear a leather jacket and tights at night and be totally comfortable. In the daytime it's still pretty warm, but there is a cool fall breeze that's starting. I can feel autumn just out of my reach, but I know it's coming soon.
