Welcome To The Jungle

I used to wear band tees like they were a school uniform growing up. Being a weird punk kid meant constantly representing my favorite punk bands, just in case my spikey hair and combat boots didn't give you enough of a hint that I was really into punk rock (like, real punk rock...from the 70s and 80s). Today, I may have refined my sense of style and expanded my taste in music, but my love for band tees hasn't gone away.

There is a "grown up" way to wear band tees so that you don't look like you just stepped out of a Hot Topic (which was the only place that would actually employ a shitty punk kid like myself in high school, by the way). Rock n' roll is in fashion right now which has given music lovers more options to rep their favorite bands and still look like an adult. Where I used to wear DIY ripped jeans and my indestructible Dr Martens, I've opted for high-waisted skinny jeans and high-heeled boots. I've replaced a hand-studded leather jacket that I swiped at some party with a moto jacket from AllSaints. While I used to rock teased, spikey hair and raccoon eye makeup, I've gone with a dark brown smokey eye, 'Diva' lipstick from MAC, and messy bedhead waves which were just left over from actually doing my hair the day before.
