Make Your Leopard-Skin Dream Come True
Leopard, and animal prints in general, are really big for this fall. I feel like I'm channelling serious Courtney Love circa 1992 vibes in this cami paired with a big leopard coat. Adding the studded leather choker and dark makeup really adds to that grunge era vibe. This is also a great way to cut the chilly fall wind or stay cozy on cold winter nights without feeling bulking in a huge black coat. It's actually been cooling down a lot at night in California and we've had little spurts of "rain" here and there, so the coats are coming out of the back of everyone's closet.
High Waisted Jeans
While I personally love animal prints, I can see how they can become tacky really quickly. My trick is to use the printed piece as the main focal point and to keep the rest of my outfit understated. Black and white is always a great choice for when you don't want to overpower your focal piece. I also make sure to watch how much skin I show. I have absolutely no problem with being sexy and showing some skin, but I think it can work to overpower a focal piece just as much as bright colors are. When I wear this leopard coat, I pair it will a low v-neck cami to show some skin on top, but wear jeans to cover the bottom. When I wear an animal print skirt, I leave my legs exposed, but pair it with a mock turtleneck top and leather jacket. Adding intersting accessories, a colored lip, or sexy shoes can also add visual interest to your outfit without competing with the animal print focal piece.
