Even at 22, I still get mistaken for a high school student. Even though I'm 5' 7", my small frame makes me look a lot younger than I am. While I know that I'll appreciate looking young when I'm older, getting mistaken for a high school student when you've graduated college isn't the greatest feeling. In my constant quest to actually look my age, t-shirts are always a little bit of a challenge. I've found that wearing tops with lower necklines or ones that shoe my arm tattoo help me look my age, but t-shirts have always looked a little juvenile on me.
T-shirts are perfect for that transitional time between seasons. In Los Angeles, it's been raining most weekends but sunny during the week, signaling some major transitional weather. I decided to experiment with this faux-leather studded tee. Unlike regular t-shirts, this one had a little edge to it, and the mixture of the faux leather and knit sleeves made the overall tee look more mature. I paired the tee with cropped high-waisted jeans to make my legs look a little longer. I'm hoping the illusion of height will keep me from looking like a high school student. Lastly, my boots from Modern Vice add rock and roll edge to any outfit.
