LA Fashion Week OOTD: Day 1
Los Angeles has always been synonymous with rock n' roll to me. From Hollywood Blvd. to the Sunset Strip, the streets of Los Angeles has always been filled with the sound of pounding drums and wailing guitars. Now, in a time where guitars are being replaced by computers and frontmen are being replaced by DJs in masks, it's good to know that there's still some rock n roll in this city.
I've stepped away from my usual cat-eye sunglasses and tried some new club master-style shades to protect my eyes from the Los Angeles sunshine. While I can't seem to stay away from a leather jacket, I opted for it draped over my shoulders to help keep me from getting too warm. From mismatched pocket lining to the spikes that line the belt loops, my jeans always make me think of too many nights running down the Sunset Strip from venue to venue and bar hopping with the bands. My studded boots are always a favorite, and my snake print bag give the outfit a little pop of color.
While some people may think it's a little strange to be wearing a graphic tee to LA Fashion Week, I've always been one to do things on my own terms. This tee was given to me by one of my favorite designers that I've been lucky enough to have struck up a friendship with. Christian Benner is a designer in New York who is pretty much the modern embodiment of rock n' roll. While he specializes is custom leathers, he's also released a run of graphic tees and will be releasing his entire ready-to-wear collection. While his storefront is located on the East Coast, I always love representing him on the West Coast.
