Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! I can't believe all that's changed in a year! Last New Years Eve, I was super sick and stuck at home. I had all but abandoned my blog, I had just quit modeling full-time, and I had $20 to my name. This year is definitely off to a way better start. I've moved twice, am in an amazing relationship with someone who's supportive of everything I do, and I'm actually able to go live my life.
This year, I wanted to go all-out with a New Years outfit to celebrate everything I've accomplished. Being a lover of all things dark and edgy, I 'm not the hugest fan of glitter and sequins, so I found my New Years sparkle in something else: metallics. I've also been really into snakes lately so this Metallic Boa Print Ponte Mini Dress from Ecote seemed like the perfect fit for me. I paired the dress with diamond fishnets as a way to mix patterns without overpowering either piece. To help me survive the night, I opted for chunky heels instead of stilettos.
Since it was New Years and glitter was the "thing", the only way I was willing to wear it was as glitter roots. While I bought mine pre-made from the store, you can easily make the glitter by mixing a light-hold clear hair gel and chunky glitter of your color choice. All you have to do is apply the gel on the roots of your hair, going as far out from your roots as your want. I kept mine pretty close to my roots, because you wouldn't have really seen the glitter against my white hair. Just make sure you don't apply too much of the gel or it will make your hair look greasy, not glittery.
