To be honest, dressing for work kind of sucks if you work somewhere conservative. Being trapped in suits and skirts all day is kind of a nightmare for the fashionably-inclined. I'm very fortunate that I don't have a suit-and-tie kind of job, but I did want to put something together for an office setting that was still fashionable.

While this coat from Forever 21 seems a bit "out there" for the typical office setting, the green faux fur collar actually comes off and the coats turns into a regular lines long black coat. If you do work in a setting where you have some creative liberties with your outfits, the green faux fur collar is just enough to make the coat a little different without being overpowering. A top tucked in to a velvet skirt gives this outfit a little more splash of color and takes advantage of the current velvet trend. Pointed heels are a must for any office outfit and make the whole look more polished and professional. Accessories are where you can really get creative and show your style. I went with a handbag that gave me leather moto jacket vibes without being too much, my favorite cat-eye sunglasses with metal-tipped edges, and an edgy triangle necklace.
