Okay so I know this top is not super pink, but it's still very pink for me. I always used to struggle with finding outfits for the spring and summer since everything seems to be neon or pastel, but I think I've finally found the key: mixing "hard" and "soft" pieces together. I know I've talked about mixing "hard" and "soft" pieces together before, but it's really been a life-saver when I have to survive a 95-degree day in Downtown Los Angeles. It's also super helpful when shopping because I can just have a few key "hard" pieces that's I've really taken the time to search for and just keep wearing them with my easy-to-find "soft" pieces.
Snake Print Top
Studded Gladiator Sandals
I started this outfit off with my "soft" piece, which is this rose snake print top. The material is super light and airy so I don't feel sticky or sweaty wearing it all day. While snake print may be more of an edgy "hard" piece for some people, it's definitely a lot more on the girly side for me. I paired the top with my "hard" lace-up denim shorts. Even though the denim shorts are high-waisted, I decided not to tuck my shirt in so that I could get more movement out of the top while just giving a peak of the lace-up front of the shorts. Lastly, I wore my summer-appropriate "hard" studded gladiator sandals from BCBGMaxAzria. As far as "hard" pieces go, gladiator sandals are pretty tame and work almost as a neutral piece. Sweaty feet are also super gross in the summer so wearing sandals solves that problem too.
