Living Fast, Dying Last
If you thought my arms were pale, you were definitely not prepared for my legs. Generally, I try to avoid the sun as much as possible, but just being outside for any length of time will give you just the tiniest bit of color. Since I've had an aversion to shorts since I was in middle school, my legs haven't really seen the light of day in years.
To be honest, I've always hated my legs. Since I have a torso that's a little longer than average, I always felt like my legs looked squatty and made me look shorter. I also always hated that my thighs were the first place I would gain weight but the last place I would loose it. When I got a little bit older, my tattoos were always in the middle of being covered up or were only half-finished. My legs are still a major work in progress as far as tattoos goes.
Because of my aversion to shorts, I hadn't gone shopping for shorts in years and didn't even know what to look for when trying them on. When I discovered how much I loved OneTeaspoon's jeans, I figured I'd love the shorts as well. I was able to find a little boutique near the beach that stocked OneTeaspoon shorts so I could try them on in person and I loved them so much I bought two pairs.
I started off this summer outfit with my studded hat from The Kooples and my sunglasses. These are pretty much my staple pieces in the summer because my eyes are so sensitive to sunlight and they protect my face and scalp from the sun (Have you ever had a sunburn on your scalp? Fuck that). My blue Bandit shorts from OneTeaspoon have a little bit of a higher waist so I tucked the front of my muscle tee from Chi Flo into the front of it. Lastly, I wore my lace-up heels from Jeffrey Campbell to really make my legs look long.
