While there's definitely warm weather in Los Angeles during the day, it's still cooling off nicely at night. This time of year is actually pretty great for someone like me, who gets to wear sleeveless tops during the day, while still being able to rock a jacket and boots at night. Still, I know the super sunny and warm California summer is right around the corner, so this may be my last chance to wear my more winter-y jackets.
I found this shag and denim jacket at a random boutique down in Orange County last summer. Growing up in Orange County myself, I've never been a huge fan of the shopping there since it mostly consists of fast fashion mall staples, big department stores, and unoriginal beach-y boutiques which all sell the same distressed white jeans, "California" tees, and turquoise jewelry. However, this little hole-in-the-wall boutique called Swirl surprised me. They carry brands I'm used to seeing in LA, but I've never seen cross over the "Orange Curtain" like Jeffrey Campbell, Matisse, and MinkPink.
I paired this denim and shag jacket with a nude tank so that it's more versatile for both days and evenings. I also wore my favorite faux leather leggings, which are super comfortable and edgy while also still being surprisingly cool during those warmer days. I also wore my leather western boots which are comfortable enough for a day of walking while still being stylish enough for an evening out at the bars. For accessories, I went with my classic Ray Ban wayfarers and a snake-print leather bag to add some texture and visual interest.
