Heat Magnet

You may recognize this outfit from How To Wear Black In The Summer Without Melting, but I really love this look so I wanted to go over it again as an Outfit post instead of a Styling Tips one.

It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of black, so wearing all black in the summers is nothing new to me. Even when it's hot out, most of us have have the luxury of moving into the a/c (which is what I end up doing most of the time since I avoid the sun anyways), but not everyone wants to be stuck inside all summer waiting the heat out. After years of refining my all-black summer wardrobe, I've finally found a formula that works for me.

For most of my summer looks, I like to wear some kind of hat to protect my face from the sun. I wear sunglasses for the same reason. Since wearing all-black can be very one-note, I make the look interesting by adding in textures, accessories, and strips of bare skin to break the whole look up. My vegan leather crop top mixed with the dark raw denim of my shorts gives an interesting mix of textures. My simple choker and metal cuff all a little something extra to the look as accessories. Even though I'm not a huge fan of showing my stomach, I feel like a strip of exposed stomach (and plenty of bare leg) is needed to break the outfit up a little bit. Finally, studded sandals are a must for summers.
