Desert Bowie

While we were trying to find our Airbnb when we first arrived in Phoenix, my boyfriend and I passed this wall that had different murals of the late David Bowie on it. I have an undying love for Bowie and was devastated when he passed, so, of course, I had to go visit the wall. The next morning, my boyfriend and I woke up early to check out the wall before breakfast.

Even early in the morning, it was already hot out. I wore my studded hat from The Kooples as well as my classic Ray-Ban sunglasses to protect my face from the intense desert sun. After three coats of sunscreen, I felt confident enough to wear a tank top from Madewell without getting sun burned (spoiler alert: I still got burned). I tucked the tank into my high-waisted skinny jeans and added a Western-style belt to give the outfit a little more of a stylish detail. Because I'm not the hugest fan of sandals and because I knew we'd be riding around on the motorcycle after exploring the downtown Phoenix area, I opted for my Matisse boots. Not only to the protect my feet from the heat and sand and everything else, but I also get a lot of compliments on the clear heels. Lastly, to carry everything I needed for the day including sunscreen, bottled water, and touch-up makeup, I brought along my calf hair tote.
